Patna: The Bihar government has launched the Bihar Vidya Sathi app to provide round-the-clock academic support to students studying in 700 Saraswati Vidya Niketan model schools across all 38 districts. The interactive platform will offer free live education, personalised teacher support and digital study material.
The initiative aims to make quality education more accessible while helping students prepare for Bihar Board examinations as well as competitive exams such as JEE and NEET.
Free 24-Hour Live Education
The Bihar Vidya Sathi app will allow students to access live teachers whenever they need academic assistance. Students can use the platform from home or any other location and seek help with their studies beyond regular classroom hours.
The model schools were established following directions from Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary with the objective of bringing quality education closer to students’ homes.
Through the digital platform, students will be able to address academic doubts and receive guidance without depending entirely on classroom teaching.
Nearly 3 Lakh Students to Benefit
The initiative will cover nearly 3 lakh students studying in Classes 9 to 12 across the 700 model schools.
A key feature of the platform is personalised teacher interaction. Students will be able to select teachers according to their learning requirements and preferences and communicate with them through one-to-one academic sessions.
Around 75,000 teachers will provide personalised academic support through the platform, creating a wider pool of educators available to students beyond their regular school schedule.
Support for Classes 9 and 10
Students in Classes 9 and 10 will receive academic support for all subjects through the platform.
The availability of live tutors will help students clarify difficult concepts, revise lessons and receive additional academic guidance alongside regular classroom learning.
The service could be particularly useful for students who need additional assistance outside school hours or want to revisit lessons at their own pace.
JEE and NEET Preparation for Science Students
The platform will also cater to students in Classes 11 and 12 studying in the science stream.
Along with live tutoring support, these students will receive digital study material for Bihar Board examinations, JEE preparation and NEET preparation.
By combining live teacher interaction with digital resources, the government aims to provide additional preparation support for both board and competitive examinations.
Bringing Digital Learning Closer to Students
The Bihar Vidya Sathi initiative is designed to complement classroom education rather than replace it. Students will have access to teachers and learning resources even after school hours, allowing them to seek assistance according to their individual requirements.
For students in Bihar’s model schools, the platform could also make specialised academic guidance more accessible, particularly for those preparing for competitive examinations.
With 700 model schools serving students across all 38 districts, the digital platform adds another layer of academic support to the state’s school education system.
Focus on Personalised Education
The availability of one-to-one interaction with teachers is among the key features of the Bihar Vidya Sathi app. Instead of relying only on standard classroom instruction, students can seek help based on their individual learning needs.
The involvement of around 75,000 teachers will create a large academic support network for students across the model-school system.
The initiative reflects Bihar’s focus on combining school-based education with digital learning, live tutoring and personalised academic assistance.
With free 24-hour access, support for Classes 9 to 12 and dedicated resources for Bihar Board, JEE and NEET preparation, the Bihar Vidya Sathi app is expected to strengthen academic support for students across the state’s model schools.
