Patna: Bihar is set to transform its public transport system with the launch of a new digital platform that will allow passengers to track buses in real time and book tickets online. The Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) is developing the ‘Where Is My Bus’ app, which is currently under testing and expected to be launched within the next two to three months.

The initiative aims to make bus travel more convenient, transparent, and technology-driven across the state.

Live Bus Tracking to Improve Passenger Experience

Once launched, the app will enable passengers to check the live location of government buses in real time using GPS technology installed in vehicles.

Key features include:

  • Real-time bus tracking on mobile phones
  • GPS-enabled location updates
  • Information on interstate buses entering Bihar
  • Improved travel planning and reduced waiting time

Officials said the feature will significantly enhance passenger safety and reliability in public transport services.

Online Ticket Booking and Seat Selection Facility

The ‘Where Is My Bus’ app will also allow users to book tickets digitally without visiting bus counters.

Passengers will be able to:

  • Book tickets for BSRTC-operated buses online
  • Select preferred seats during booking
  • Make secure online payments
  • Access cancellation and refund options

The app is being designed with a user-friendly interface to ensure easy access for all passengers.

Extension to Interstate Bus Services

In a major upgrade, the app will also provide live information and booking access for buses coming from other states into Bihar. This will help passengers using inter-state routes to plan their travel more efficiently.

Officials believe this integration will make Bihar’s transport system more connected and modern.

Transport Minister Calls It a ‘Revolutionary Step’

Transport Minister Damodar Raut said the new app will bring a revolutionary change in Bihar’s transport sector.

He stated that:

  • The app will simplify ticket booking
  • Live tracking will improve safety and transparency
  • Passengers will enjoy a better and smoother travel experience
  • The system will benefit both intra-state and inter-state travelers

BSRTC Push Toward Digital Transformation

The Bihar State Road Transport Corporation is actively strengthening its digital infrastructure to modernize public transport services.

The ‘Where Is My Bus’ app is part of this broader effort to integrate technology into daily commuting systems and improve service efficiency for passengers across Bihar.
