Patna: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has termed the copy of the 70th BPSC examination circulating on social media as completely fake. During a press conference, Examination Controller Rajesh Kumar Singh displayed the actual copy and said the fake document was being circulated to discredit the commission.
The commission said candidates will receive their answer copies through their respective IDs.
BPSC Exams to Follow Two-Stage System
BPSC has decided to conduct all its examinations in two stages. The commission also made it clear that negative marking will continue and there will be no change in the existing system.
The examination controller said Bihar is not the only state to conduct examinations in multiple stages, citing the examination systems followed by UPSC, UPPSC and other state commissions.

Commission Rejects Language Bias Claims
BPSC also rejected allegations that Hindi-medium candidates receive fewer marks than English-medium candidates.
The commission said candidates are treated equally regardless of their examination language. It also dismissed claims of arbitrary marking, stating that marks are awarded according to the correctness and quality of answers.
TRE-4 Could Be Held in Six Phases
The commission also shared details about the upcoming Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE-4). Applications will be accepted from September 1 to September 30, 2026.
The examination may take place in December or January, while the examination schedule is likely to be announced in October.
If the number of applicants remains below five lakh, TRE-4 will be conducted in three phases. If applications exceed five lakh, the examination may be held in six phases.
The proposal to provide an additional 10 to 15 minutes to candidates remains under consideration. TRE-4 will feature objective-type questions.
BPSC Clarifies Domicile Question
On the domicile issue, the examination controller said the decision to introduce or remove domicile requirements rests with the state government and does not fall within the commission’s authority.
He added that around 72% of candidates appearing in BPSC examinations are from Bihar.
Assistant Engineer Result Awaits Court Decision
BPSC also provided an update on the Assistant Engineer examination conducted around a year ago. The result remains pending because a related matter is before the court.
The commission said it is making efforts to get the case resolved at the earliest. The result will be released after the court disposes of the matter.
