Ex-IAS officer Atanu Chakraborty will be joining the private sector lender, HDFC, as a part-time Chairperson and Additional Independent Director from May 5.
According to a bank statement, the board of directors has approved his appointment after getting due permission from the Reserve Bank of India. The appointment has been made for a period of three years starting from the date of appointment.
Chakraborty, a retired 1985 batch IAS officer from Gujarat cadre, served as the Secretary at Department of Economic Affairs in Ministry of Finance during 2019-20. He played a major role in managing the entire process of the Union Budget and in coordinating the economic policy-making of all ministries and departments.
