After the approval of the Election Commission of India, the state government has appointed IAS officer(1996 batch) Manish Garg as the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of the state.
A notification issued by the Chief Secretary Ram Subhag Singh here Wednesday said Manish Garg would also look after the work of Principal Secretary, Election Commission.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has given instructions to the state government not to give the charge of any other department to Manish Garg. After this, all the education departments have been withdrawn from him. “If the government wants to give another department to Manish Garg, then approval from ECI will be mandatory for this.” notification said.
