The state of Odisha witnessed another Indian Foreign Service officer’s death on Wednesday as he succumbed to coronavirus-related complications in Bhubaneshwar.
IFS Sayed Mohammad Tufelur Rehman who was working as the special DFO of Wildlife Division, Cuttack lost his life after a battle with the virus. According to sources, Mr. Rehman became feverish on June 5. Consequently, his RT-PCR test came positive for which he was admitted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.
During treatment, his health condition worsened gradually after his lungs sustained severe infection by the virus. Meanwhile, the team of doctors advised him for immediate ECMO care. However, his family could not arrange it so soon. As a result, he died of fatal distress due to failure of lungs and breathed his last on Wednesday.
