Joint Secretary Level Reshuffle; IAS Officer Akash Tripathi Appointed as CEO, MyGov, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology 

1999 batch IAS officer Ajay Bhadoo of Gujarat cadre has been appointed as Deputy Election Commissioner, Election Commission of India for an overall tenure of five years ending 24.07.2024.

In a major reshuffle the central government has cleared the appointment of Joint Secretary or Joint Secretary equivalent officers in various ministries and departments.

  • 1998 batch IFS officer Franklin L Khobung (GJ) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare for a tenure of five years. He replaces 1989 batch IFS officer Namita J Priyadarshee (GJ).
  • 2001 batch IAS officer Pankaj Yadav (HY) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare for a tenure of five years. He replaces 1988 batch IFS officer Shomita Biswas (MH).
  • 1998 batch IFS officer Rahul Sharma (JH) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH for a tenure of five years. He replaces 2002 batch IAS officer D Senthil Pandiyan (UD).
  • 2006 batch IAS officer Ajay Yadav (TN) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat for an overall tenure of seven years upto 10.11.2023. He will 1999 batch IAS officer replace Amandeep Garg (HP)
  • 1996 batch IFS officer Deepak Mishra (KL) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals for a tenure of five years. He will replace Kashi Nath Jha (IP&TA&FS:1994).
  • 2001 batch IRAS officer Indu C Nair has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce for an overall tenure of seven years up to 11.04.2024.
  • 1998 batch IRAS officer Gurmeet Singh Chawla has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture for a tenure of five years. He will replace 1994 batch IAS officer Partha Sarthi Sensharma of UP cadre. .
  • 1999 batch IAS officer Mugdha Sinha (RJ) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture for a tenure of five years. She will replace Madnesh Kumar Mishra (IRS-IT:1990).
  • 2006 batch IAS officer Ajay Kumar (GJ) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Defence for an overall tenure of five years ending 14.07.2024. He will replace 1993 batch ICAS officer Sanjai Singh.
  • 2006 batch IAS officer Manoj Kumar Sahoo AGMUT cadre has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation for an overall tenure of seven years upto 16.12.2023. He will replace 1990 batch IAS officer Arun Baroka of AGMUT cadre.
  • 2002 batch IAS officer D Senthil Pandiyan (UD) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences for an overall tenure of five years ending 23.05.2026. He will replace Ms Indira Murthy (CSS).
  • 2006 batch IAS officer Hanish Chhabra of Tamil Nadu cadre has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs for an overall tenure of seven years ending 14.12.2022. He will replace Ms. Manisha Sinha (IPoS:1992).
  • 2001 batch IES officer Surbhi Jain has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs for an overall tenure of five years ending 09.08.2026. She replaces vice Anand Mohan Bajaj (IA&AS:1990).
  • 1999 batch IAS officer Ajay Bhadoo of Gujarat cadre has been appointed as Deputy Election Commissioner, Election Commission of India for an overall tenure of five years ending 24.07.2024. He replaces 1995 batch IAS officer Chandra Bhushan Kumar (UT).

  • Satyajit Mishra (CSS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change for a tenure up to his superannuation on 31.05.2027. He replaces 1990 batch IFS officer Jigmet Takpa (JK).
  • 2005 batch IAS officer Mukesh Kumar Bansal (CG) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Financial Services for an overall tenure of five years ending 10.03.2025. He replaces Ms. Vandita Kaul (IPoS:1989).
  • 2000 batch IFS officer T J Kavitha (RJ) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Food & Public Distribution for a tenure of five years. She replaces 1994 batch IRAS officer Mukta Shekhar.
  • Sachin Mittal (IPoS:2000) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare for an overall tenure of seven years ending 21.06.2023 vice Vikas Sheel (IAS:1994:CG).
  • 2004 batch IAS officer Manashvi Kumar (PB) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare for an overall tenure of five years ending 14.03.2026 in place of Ms. Padmaja Singh (CSS).
  • 2005 batch IAS officer Basant Garg (PB) has been appointed as Additional CEO, National Health Authority under the Department of Health & Family Welfare for an overall tenure of five years ending 10.09.2024.
  • 1996 batch IPS officer Hanif Qureshi (HY) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries for a tenure of five years vice IAS officer Nidhi Chhibber of 1994 batch (CG).
  • 2006 batch IAS officer Ravi Kumar Arora (GJ) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for an overall tenure of five years ending 04.08.2024. He replaces Ved Prakash (IRSE-Civil:1988).
  • 2000 batch IAS officer Deepak Agarwal (UP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for a tenure of five years in place of Pankaj Kumar Singh (IDAS:1994). Presently, he is working in Cadre as Divisional Commissioner, Varanasi.
  • 2005 batch IAS officer Rahul Jain (MP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Investment & Public Asset Management (DIPAM) for an overall tenure of five years ending 03.11.2024. He will replace D Bhatnagar, (IRS-IT:1988).
  • 2006 batch IAS officer Rupesh Kumar Thakur (AGMUT) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment for an overall tenure of five years ending 11.03.2026. He will replace 1993 batch IAS officer Ajay Tewari (AM).
  • 2001 batch IAS officer Ms. Nandita Gupta (HP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment for an overall tenure of five years ending 14.12.2022. She will replace R K Gupta (CSS).
  • Ms. Farida Mahmood Naik (CSS) has been appointed as (in-situ elevation) as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Mines for a tenure of five years. She replaces 1995 batch IAS officer Satendra Singh (JH).
  • 2005 batch IAS officer Ajay Yadav (BH) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy for an overall tenure of five years ending 11.12.2022. His tenure may be extended for two years on the availability of Cadre Clearance. Presently, he is PS to Jyotiraditya Scindhia in the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
  • 2005 batch IAS officer Rajat Kumar (CG) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Personnel & Training for a combined tenure of five years ending 21.08.2024.
  • 2004 batch IAS officer Priyanka Basu Ingty (HP) has been appointed (in-situ elevation) as Regional Director (JS level), SSC, Kolkata under DOPT for an overall tenure of seven years upto 03.04.2023.
  • Mohammad Afzal (CPES:1995) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Power for a tenure of five years. He will replace Vishal Kapoor (IRSME:1995).
  • 1999 batch IFS officer Amit Shukla (TR) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Rural Development for an overall tenure of five years ending 01.06.2026. He will replace Biswajit Banerjee (IFoS:1991:UP).
  • Ms. Indira Murthy (CSS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Social Justice & Empowerment for a tenure upto her superannuation on 30.04.2023. She will replace 1993 batch IAS officer Surendra Singh (JH).
  • 2002 batch IAS officer Lochan Sehra (GJ) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, IN-SPACe (Ahmedabad) for a tenure of five years.
