The Union Home Ministry announced a massive reshuffle of top administrative and police officials in Goa, resulting in the transfer of prominent officers such as Secretary to Chief Minister Ajit Roy and Superintendent of Police Nidhin Valsan, Abhishek Dhania, and Aslam Khan.
According to a transfer order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, IAS Ajit Roy, who formerly held the critical position of Secretary to the Chief Minister, has been transferred to Mizoram. Meanwhile, the police department has undergone significant changes, with the transfers of North Goa Superintendent of Police Nidhin Valsan, South Goa Superintendent of Police Abhishek Dhania, and IPS Aslam Khan. All three officers are relocating to Delhi.
The newly appointed officials include IAS E Vellavan, IAS Ankit Yadav, and IPS Rohit Singh and Rahul Gupta, who will replace the departing officers. They are expected to take up their various responsibilities in Goa, bringing new insights and skills to their positions.
The reasons for these transfers remain unknown, but the Union Home Ministry’s decision is expected to put a renewed emphasis on administrative efficiency and law enforcement in the state. The adjustments come at a critical moment for Goa, which is preparing for various development initiatives while also grappling with law and order challenges.
