New Delhi: The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has promoted seven Indian Revenue Service (IRS – Customs & Indirect Taxes) officers to the Senior Administrative Grade (SAG) as Commissioners against the 2026 panel year.
All seven officers belong to the 2008 batch of IRS (C&IT) and have now been elevated to the senior grade.

The seven officers promoted to SAG as Commissioners are:
- Chongneithem Changsan (IRS: 2008)
- Lienmoung S. Gangte (IRS: 2008)
- K C Nagaraja Naik (IRS: 2008)
- Pankaj Kumar Singh (IRS: 2008)
- N S Parthasarthy (IRS: 2008)
- Prashant Kumar Jha (IRS: 2008)
- Neeraj Dube (IRS: 2008)
The promotions have been made against the panel year 2026, marking the officers’ elevation to the SAG level in the CBIC.

Promotion to Senior Administrative Grade
The Senior Administrative Grade (SAG) is a higher level in the career progression of officers in the Indian Revenue Service. Promotion to the grade enables officers to take up senior leadership and administrative responsibilities within the tax and customs administration.
With this elevation, the seven 2008-batch officers will serve as Commissioners, subject to the terms of the relevant promotion and posting orders.
The latest CBIC order covers officers from the same recruitment batch and represents their progression to a higher level of responsibility within the indirect tax administration.
