The notifications include tenure extensions for IAS officer Sheetal Verma, AYUSH Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Joint Secretary Javvadi V. Naga Subramanyam, and Central Vigilance Commission Director Ajai Kumar Verma. Additionally, IRAS officer Anand Bantia has been appointed as Private Secretary to Minister of State Harsh Malhotra, while IES officer Mamta has been shifted to the Ministry of Steel.
Sheetal Verma Gets One-Year Extension as Census Operations Director
The tenure of Sheetal Verma, Director of Census Operations (DCO) and Director of Citizen Registration (DCR), Uttar Pradesh, has been extended up to June 30, 2027.
A 2007-batch IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, Verma continues to hold a crucial role in census administration and citizen registration activities in the country’s most populous state.
AYUSH Secretary Rajesh Kotecha Gets Another Year
The government has extended the tenure of Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, by one year beyond June 28, 2026.
With the latest order, Kotecha will continue in office until June 28, 2027.
As Secretary of the Ministry of AYUSH, he has played a significant role in promoting traditional systems of medicine including Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy at both national and international levels.
Tenure of Naga Subramanyam Revised Up to 2027
The tenure of Javvadi V Naga Subramanyam, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), has been revised.
According to the notification, his overall central deputation tenure has now been fixed at seven years, extending his tenure up to February 15, 2027.
Subramanyam has been associated with several policy initiatives related to India’s renewable energy transition and clean energy expansion programmes.
Anand Bantia Appointed Private Secretary to Harsh Malhotra
In a significant personnel move, the tenure of Anand Bantia (IRAS: 2012) as Integrated Financial Adviser (IFA) at Director level in the Sashastra Seema Bal has been curtailed.
He has now been appointed as Private Secretary to Harsh Malhotra in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
Bantia will serve at the Director level from June 27, 2026, to April 26, 2031, subject to standard deputation conditions.
Ajai Kumar Verma’s Tenure Extended in CVC
The government has approved a nine-month extension for Ajai Kumar Verma (IDSE: 2000), Director in the Central Vigilance Commission.
His tenure has been extended beyond July 1, 2026, and will now continue until April 1, 2027.
Verma has been serving on central deputation since July 2, 2020, and continues to be associated with vigilance and anti-corruption oversight functions at the national level.
Mamta Moves from DPIIT to Ministry of Steel
Another key appointment involves Mamta (IES: 2008), who has been serving as Director in the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
She has been appointed as Director in the Ministry of Steel on a lateral shift basis.
Her tenure in the Ministry of Steel will continue up to March 31, 2029.
