In a notable administrative development, two senior IAS officers serving in Andhra Pradesh have been appointed to Central government roles. J. Nivas, currently serving as Additional Secretary (Finance), has been selected as Director of Census Operations and Director of Citizen Registration for Andhra Pradesh. His tenure will extend till December 31.
In a parallel move, M. Hari Narayanan, who was serving as Inspector General (Registration and Stamps), has been appointed as Director in the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation under the Government of India in New Delhi. His central deputation will last for five years.
To fill the vacancy left by Hari Narayanan, Health Commissioner G. Veerapandian has been given full additional charge of the post of Inspector General, Registration and Stamps.
