New Delhi: The Central Government on Wednesday issued a series of appointment and transfer orders involving officers from the IPS, ISS, and IRS cadres, reflecting ongoing administrative reshuffles at the Centre.
IPS Officer Posted to SSB
Ashish Kumar Mishra, a 2013-batch IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre, has been appointed as Commandant (General Duty) in the Sashastra Seema Bal.
The SSB plays a crucial role in guarding India’s borders and maintaining internal security, making the posting significant in operational terms.

ISS Officer Appointed in DPIIT
Pankaj Kumar, an Indian Statistical Service (ISS) officer of the 2016 batch, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade.
His tenure in the department will be for a period of four years, where he is expected to contribute to policy formulation related to industrial growth and internal trade.
IRS Officer Gets New Assignment
The tenure of Lokesh Kumar Jain as Director in the Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation has been curtailed.
Subsequently, he has been appointed as Private Secretary to Suresh Gopi in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, at the Director level.
Administrative Significance
Such appointments and reassignments are part of routine administrative processes aimed at optimizing governance by aligning officers’ expertise with key departments and ministries.
