Jammu: Senior IAS officer RK Goyal of the J&K–AGMUT cadre is set to retire on August 31 upon reaching superannuation. Goyal, a 1990-batch officer of the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir cadre, has served in several key administrative roles both in the Union Government and the erstwhile J&K state.
Niraj Verma to Take Over as Justice Secretary
Upon Goyal’s retirement, Niraj Verma, a 1994-batch IAS officer from the Assam-Meghalaya cadre, has been appointed as the new Secretary, Department of Justice, Government of India. Mr Verma will officially assume charge on August 31, the same day Goyal steps down.

Mr Goyal’s distinguished administrative career spans more than three decades. He has held prolific and sensitive postings at both the Centre and in Jammu & Kashmir, playing a significant role in governance and policy implementation during crucial phases.
