Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today performed the groundbreaking ceremony of the Mayali-Bagicha Development Project at Mayali Nature Camp in Jashpur. The project, approved under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme 2.0 by the Government of India, is designed to develop tourism infrastructure in Mayali, Madheshwar Mountain, and Kailash Caves while preserving the region’s natural, cultural, and tribal heritage.
With an estimated cost of ₹10 crore, the project aims to provide sustainable employment opportunities to local youth and position Jashpur as a prominent global tourist destination.
Focus on Eco-Tourism and Cultural Preservation
The development initiative emphasizes eco-tourism, adventure tourism, and heritage conservation. CM Sai stated that the Mayali-Bagicha project represents a historic step in the district’s tourism development, with a vision to place Mayali on the global tourism map.
Madheshwar Mountain, known for housing the world’s largest natural Shivling, will be highlighted as a major religious and tourist attraction. The project will also feature a tourist resort and a Skill Development Center near the Mayali Dam, offering training in tour guiding, hospitality, adventure sports, handicrafts, and digital booking systems.
Infrastructure Upgrades for Visitors
The Mayali-Bagicha project will see the construction of:
- Five tourist cottages
- Conference and convention halls
