Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today launched the Electricity Bill Payment Resolution Scheme 2026 from the auditorium of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Hospital, Raipur. The scheme aims to provide financial relief to electricity consumers facing difficulties in paying outstanding bills. On the occasion, the Chief Minister also transferred a subsidy of ₹8.79 crore to 2,931 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme.
Highlights of the Samadhan Yojana
• Total Relief: ₹757 crore to benefit 28.42 lakh consumers
• Target Beneficiaries: Low- and middle-income households, and agricultural consumers who have long-standing unpaid electricity bills
• Scheme Duration: Effective till June 30, 2026
Consumer Categories:
1 Inactive consumers as of March 31, 2023
2 Active single-light consumers
3 Active non-government domestic and agricultural consumers
Incentives for Consumers:
• 100% rebate on surcharge amount
• Up to 75% discount on principal outstanding
• Minimum 10% payment required at registration, remaining can be paid in installments
• No surcharge for the following month after registration
Chief Minister’s Message
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai emphasized the essential nature of electricity in modern life, noting that many families struggle to pay bills on time due to financial constraints. He highlighted that the Samadhan Yojana aims to alleviate consumer suffering by offering substantial financial relief.
He also lauded the efforts under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, pointing out that around 18,000 villages received electricity after 2014, transforming the lives of rural communities. Currently, approximately 30,000 MW of electricity is produced from local resources, ensuring uninterrupted power supply in the state.
The Chief Minister also encouraged citizens to conserve electricity and avoid unnecessary domestic consumption, emphasizing the role of responsible usage in sustainable power management.

• Total Beneficiaries Subsidized: 2,931 individuals, ₹8.79 crore
• Public Participation: Over 36,000 people have joined the scheme
• Women SHGs as Solar Vendors: Promotes entrepreneurship and clean energy adoption
Government Directions & Implementation
• The Chief Minister directed the Energy Department to organize camps and extensive publicity to ensure maximum consumer participation.
• Officials, including Raipur North MLA Purandar Mishra, Raipur Mayor Meenal Choubey, District Panchayat President Naveen Agarwal, and Energy Secretary Dr. Rohit Yadav, attended the launch along with numerous officers, employees, and electricity consumers.
Significance of the Scheme
The Samadhan Yojana is designed to reduce the financial burden of electricity bills, particularly in the wake of difficulties caused during the COVID-19 pandemic. It encourages timely payment of bills while promoting energy conservation and sustainable electricity usage across Chhattisgarh.
