Raipur: Chhattisgarh witnessed the grand conclusion of the First National Rover-Ranger Jamboree at Dudhli village in Balod, with more than 15,000 participants from across India. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the chief guest, emphasized that scouting is not just an activity but a way of life that teaches self-reliance, teamwork, and dedication to society.
A Celebration of Unity and Diversity
Addressing the participants, CM Sai warmly welcomed Rover-Rangers and Scout-Guides from various states to the land of Lord Rama and Mata Shabari. He described the Jamboree as a living celebration of India’s unity in diversity, noting that the cultural performances, tableaux, and activities by participants effectively showcased the country’s rich heritage. He added that hosting the event in Chhattisgarh reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.”

Youth Empowerment and Leadership Through Scouting
CM Sai addressed the youth, calling them the future of the nation. Quoting Swami Vivekananda’s inspiring words — “Arise, awake, and stop not until the goal is reached” — he encouraged them to pursue their goals with confidence and determination. Highlighting the values instilled by Scout-Guide organizations, such as discipline, service, leadership, and teamwork, he said these qualities prepare youth for nation-building. He also lauded the efforts of Scouts during the COVID-19 pandemic, recognizing their role in community awareness and safety. On the occasion, he administered an oath under the “Baal Vivah Mukt Bharat” initiative to participating youth.
Historic Participation and Cultural Showcase
The five-day Jamboree, held from January 9–13, saw participation from over 15,000 Rover-Rangers, making it a historic event. The closing ceremony featured cultural programs by participants from across India, highlighting art, culture, and communal harmony. The massive turnout and active engagement made the Jamboree a landmark celebration in the nation’s scouting history.
Special Initiatives and Awards
School Education Minister and State President of Scout-Guide, Gajendra Yadav, noted that the Jamboree successfully incorporated a Youth Parliament, skill exhibitions, cultural exchanges, and a tribal ethnic fashion show, providing new perspectives and platforms for the youth. Minister Yadav was honored with the Silver Elephant Award by National Chief Commissioner Dr. K. K. Khandelwal.
Scouting: Service and Dedication for a Better India
National Chief Commissioner of the Indian Scout-Guide, Dr. K. K. Khandelwal, emphasized that the essence of scouting is “to do good for others through your actions.” He added that balancing tradition with modernity and fostering a spirit of service is fundamental to building a strong and developed nation.
The event was attended by dignitaries including Chhattisgarh State Seed Corporation Chairman Chandrahas Chandrakar, Chhattisgarh Fisheries Welfare Board Chairman Bharat Matiyara, and several other officials and representatives.
