Surguja: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai attended a major farmers’ conference in Lundra block of Surguja district today, highlighting the state government’s commitment to agricultural development and rural infrastructure. During the event, CM Sai inaugurated and laid the foundation for 51 development projects worth ₹281 crore.
Farmers’ Conference in Lundra
The conference, held at Chhatrapati Shivaji Mini Stadium, brought together local farmers, scheme beneficiaries, and senior state officials. Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, along with other cabinet ministers, MPs, and MLAs, also attended.
The event aimed to address farmers’ concerns, share information about ongoing schemes, and promote government initiatives for increased farmer income, modern farming techniques, and irrigation support. CM Sai personally interacted with farmers, listening to their issues and instructing officials to ensure timely resolution.

Immediate MSP Payment to Farmers
The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to farmers’ welfare, announcing that Minimum Support Price (MSP) payments for paddy will be disbursed within 48 hours, and pending dues within one week. Farmers also received certificates, cheques, essential materials, and keys to PM Awas Yojana houses during the event.
Launch of ₹281 Crore Development Projects
During the program, CM Sai inaugurated and laid the foundation for 51 projects spanning multiple sectors:
- Road construction and transport infrastructure
- Water supply and irrigation projects
- Health and education facilities
- Development of sports infrastructure
- Village-level civic amenities
These initiatives aim to boost rural infrastructure, enhance public services, and improve quality of life for residents in Surguja district.

Preparations and Security
Officials, including Lundra MLA Prabodh Minj, District Collector Ajit Vasant, and Senior Superintendent of Police Rajesh Agrawal, conducted a detailed inspection of the venue. Measures for stage setup, seating arrangements, parking, and distribution of benefits were finalized to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.
Statue Unveiling in Ambikapur
After Lundra, CM Sai traveled to Ambikapur to unveil statues of former MLA Pandit Ravishankar Tripathi and freedom fighter Chandrashekhar Azad, commemorating their contributions to the district.
Focus on Rural Development
CM Sai emphasized that rural and agricultural development is the government’s top priority. He instructed authorities to ensure all projects and schemes are completed on schedule. The conference reflected the government’s focus on strengthening farmers’ income, promoting modern agriculture, and empowering villages through infrastructure and social development programs.
