Speculations Around IGI Airport Appointment Put to Rest

For several days, intense speculation surrounded the posting of IPS officers on deputation, particularly the appointment of the Chief Airport Security Officer (CASO) at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, New Delhi. These rumors were amplified when Mr. Kasso Senthil Avudai Krishna Raj, an IPS officer from the Uttarakhand cadre, was promoted from DIG to IG, yet continued to serve in his previous DIG role at IGI Airport.

The unusual delay in formalizing his IG-level appointment raised eyebrows and led to whispers that the CASO position might have been reserved for a particular IPS officer. However, Monday night’s official order has put an end to all such speculation.

Mr. Senthil Krishna Raj Takes Over Airport Sector; Mr. Vijay Prakash Transferred

In the latest reshuffle, Mr. Vijay Prakash, a 1996-batch IPS officer from the Uttar Pradesh cadre and a long-time IG of the airport sector, has been transferred to the NCR sector. Known for his efforts to make airport security more passenger-friendly, Mr. Prakash’s transfer came as a surprise to many.

The newly promoted IG, Mr. Senthil Avudai Krishna Raj (2007-batch IPS officer), has now been officially given charge of the airport sector, confirming the long-anticipated change in leadership.

Mr. G. Shivkumar Appointed New CASO of IGI Airport

In what is being called one of the most discussed appointments, Mr. G. Shivkumar, a 2008-batch IPS officer of the Himachal Pradesh cadre, has been named the new CASO of IGI Airport. Until now, Mr. Shivkumar served as DIG with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). His appointment to this critical position has taken many by surprise.

Meanwhile, Mr. Babu Ram, a 2009-batch IPS officer from the Bihar cadre, has replaced him as the new DIG of DMRC.

Parliament House Security Assigned to Mr. Sanjay Kumar Sain

Mr. Sanjay Kumar Sain, a 2011-batch IPS officer from the Union Territories (UT) cadre, currently on central deputation from Delhi Police, has been entrusted with a highly sensitive role—security of Parliament House. This high-profile assignment reflects the trust placed in his leadership.

At the same time, the current DIG of Parliament House, Mr. Digvijay Kumar Singh, has been transferred to BCCL Dhanbad, while Mr. Singh, who had been serving in BSL Bokaro, has now been assigned to ADG South Headquarters, Mumbai.

Ms. Neeti Mittal Gets New Posting as DIG in BSL
