Uttarakhand CM Dhami Approves ₹31 Crore for Roads, Bridges, Parking and Other Development Works

Major projects include a steel girder bridge in Pithoragarh, a 30-metre bridge in Rishikesh, interlocking tile work in Khatima and a multi-level parking facility in Champawat.

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved financial sanctions totalling around ₹31 crore for various development and infrastructure projects across the state.

The approvals cover road and bridge construction, interlocking tile works, a multi-level parking facility and financial assistance for State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel.

₹15.30 Crore Approved for Pithoragarh Road and Bridge

The largest allocation of ₹15.30 crore has been approved for construction works in Gangolihat, Pithoragarh.

The project includes improvement of the Chandak-Bans-Aanwalaghat-Gangolihat road and construction of a steel girder bridge over the Ramganga River. The project is expected to strengthen connectivity and facilitate movement in the region.

₹3.16 Crore Sanctioned for Bridge in Rishikesh

The Chief Minister has also approved ₹3.16 crore for construction of a 30-metre span bridge over Bangla Nala in Ward No. 3 of Gram Sabha Bhuttowala in Rishikesh. The bridge is aimed at improving local connectivity and easing movement for residents in the area.

Khatima Gets ₹3.05 Crore for Interlocking Tile Work

In Khatima, Udham Singh Nagar district, the government has sanctioned ₹3.05 crore for interlocking tile work on the route from Melaghat through Baghgha Colony to Mayur Vihar. The project is expected to improve local road infrastructure and ease transportation for residents.

₹9.80 Crore Approved for Multi-Level Parking in Champawat

The government has approved ₹9.80 crore for construction of a multi-level parking facility in Dechmar village of the Devipura area, under Pati tehsil in Champawat district.

The Uttarakhand Peyjal Nigam has been designated as the executing agency for the project.

The facility is expected to address parking and infrastructure requirements in the area.

₹5 Lakh Award for 108 SDRF Personnel

The Chief Minister has also approved ₹5 lakh as a reward for 108 SDRF personnel for their successful contribution to the smooth conduct of Kumbh Mela 2025. The recognition acknowledges the personnel’s role in ensuring effective disaster response and safety arrangements during the event.

Public Body Pensioners to Get Higher Dearness Relief

Alongside infrastructure approvals, CM Dhami has approved an increase in Dearness Relief (DR) for civil and family pensioners of public bodies and undertakings receiving pensions under the Sixth Central Pay Commission.

The revised rates will apply as follows:

  • From January 1, 2025: 252%
  • From July 1, 2025: 257%
  • From January 1, 2026: 262% per month

The decision will provide increased financial relief to eligible pensioners of public bodies and undertakings in the state.

Focus on Infrastructure and Public Welfare

The latest decisions combine infrastructure development with welfare measures across Uttarakhand.

Key areas covered by the approvals include:

  • Road and bridge connectivity
  • Urban infrastructure and parking
  • Local development works
  • Recognition of SDRF personnel
  • Financial relief for pensioners

Through these measures, the state government is focusing on improving public infrastructure while extending welfare support to different sections of society.
