Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved a series of development projects worth a total of ₹32.49 crore across Haridwar, Uttarkashi, Tehri and Champawat districts.
The approved projects primarily focus on strengthening drinking water and sewerage infrastructure, along with the construction of a residential facility for the District Judge in Champawat.
₹2.95 Crore Approved for Sewer Line Replacement in Haridwar
In Haridwar district, ₹2.95 crore has been approved for replacing sewer lines of various diameters in the Jwalapur Zone-III area of the Haridwar (Ganga) branch.
The project is aimed at improving the existing sewerage network and strengthening sanitation-related infrastructure in the area.
₹3.05 Crore Sanctioned for Sankri Drinking Water Scheme
For Sankri drinking water scheme under the Mori development block in Uttarkashi district, the government has approved ₹3.05 crore.
The project is expected to strengthen drinking water infrastructure and improve access to water for people in the Sankri area.
₹26.44 Crore Approved for Drinking Water Pumping Scheme in Tehri
The largest allocation among the approved projects has been made for Tehri district.
A sum of ₹26.44 crore has been approved for the construction of the Umreshwar Machhar Drinking Water Pumping Scheme in Mahadjali village of Hindolakhal development block.
The project is expected to improve the availability and distribution of drinking water in the area and strengthen local water infrastructure.
Funds Approved for District Judge’s Residential Building in Champawat
In Champawat district, approval has also been given for ₹5.31 lakh for the construction of a residential building for the District Judge.
The project is aimed at providing the required residential infrastructure for the district judiciary.
Focus on Drinking Water and Basic Infrastructure
A significant portion of the approved projects is dedicated to drinking water and sewerage infrastructure.
The initiatives are expected to:
- Improve drinking water availability in rural areas.
- Strengthen sewerage infrastructure in urban areas.
- Upgrade local public infrastructure.
- Improve basic services for residents.
- Support better living conditions in the concerned districts.
