Khatima: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a dialogue programme at his camp office in Khatima and listened to the problems, suggestions and expectations of members of the Tharu community. He assured the community that the holistic development of tribal society remains a key priority of the state government.
The interaction covered a range of issues, including education, healthcare, employment, basic infrastructure and the preservation of Tharu culture and traditions.
Representatives of the Tharu community welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting him with bouquets and expressed gratitude for his continued support and efforts towards protecting and promoting Tharu cultural traditions.
CM Dhami Calls Dialogue a Partnership for Development
CM Dhami said the interaction was not merely a formal programme but an important platform to strengthen the trust and development partnership between the government and the Tharu community.
He said his association with the Tharu community dates back several years and emphasised that his connection with Khatima would always remain strong.
During the programme, the Chief Minister directly heard the concerns, suggestions and expectations of community representatives.
He said the government was continuously working to make the implementation of welfare schemes more effective and ensure that their benefits reach the intended beneficiaries.

- Every girl should receive education and empowerment
- Community concerns and suggestions should receive government attention
Dhami said every problem, suggestion and expectation raised by the Tharu community is a priority for the government.
Dhami Highlights Tribal Empowerment Under PM Modi
The Chief Minister said significant efforts have been made for the empowerment of tribal communities under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.He cited the election of Droupadi Murmu, who belongs to the tribal community, as an important example of the country’s focus on tribal empowerment and inclusion.
Dhami said the government is committed to the overall development of tribal communities under the “double-engine” government.
He also said that returning to the Tharu community in Khatima felt like meeting members of his own family.
Government Reaffirms Commitment to Tharu Culture
Along with development and basic facilities, the dialogue also highlighted the importance of protecting the culture and traditions of the Tharu community.
The Chief Minister assured community representatives that the government would continue working towards preserving their cultural identity while ensuring access to education, healthcare, employment and other development opportunities.
