Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved important financial allocations for development works in Nanakmatta, Udham Singh Nagar district, and preparations for Kumbh Mela 2027.

Under the latest approvals, ₹96 lakh has been sanctioned for drainage and beautification works in Nanakmatta Nagar Panchayat. In addition, the Chief Minister has approved ₹80 crore in the first phase for Kumbh Mela 2027-related works against a total proposed provision of ₹175 crore under the Urban Development Department.

₹96 Lakh for Nanakmatta Drainage and Beautification

The ₹96 lakh allocation for Nanakmatta will be used to improve water drainage and beautification in the Nagar Panchayat area.

The development works are expected to address local infrastructure requirements and improve the overall urban environment.

The allocation will support:

  • Strengthening the water drainage system.
  • Addressing water accumulation and drainage-related issues.
  • Improving the appearance of public spaces.
  • Enhancing the overall urban environment of Nanakmatta.

Improved drainage facilities are expected to be particularly beneficial during the monsoon season by helping manage waterlogging in the town.

₹80 Crore Approved for Kumbh Mela 2027 Works

The Uttarakhand government has also approved ₹80 crore in the first phase for works related to Kumbh Mela 2027.

The amount has been approved against a total proposed provision of ₹175 crore under the Urban Development Department.

The first-phase funding is expected to provide momentum to planned infrastructure and urban development works linked to the upcoming event.

The remaining amount under the ₹175-crore provision will be subject to further approvals.

Kumbh Mela Preparations to Get a Boost

The approval of the first-phase funding is expected to accelerate preparations for Kumbh Mela 2027.

The sanctioned amount will help concerned departments take forward priority works related to urban infrastructure and facilities required for the major religious gathering.

Key focus areas include:

  • Development of urban infrastructure.
  • Improvement of public facilities.
  • Implementation of priority projects.
  • Strengthening arrangements ahead of Kumbh Mela 2027.

Uttarakhand Focuses on Local Development and Major Events

The latest approvals highlight the state government’s dual focus on local civic infrastructure and preparations for major events.

While ₹96 lakh has been sanctioned specifically for drainage and beautification in Nanakmatta, the ₹80 crore first-phase approval will support preparations for Kumbh Mela 2027.

Following the Chief Minister’s approval, the concerned departments and local authorities are expected to move ahead with the implementation of the sanctioned works.

The Uttarakhand government is continuing to provide financial approvals for development projects while simultaneously strengthening infrastructure and urban facilities ahead of Kumbh Mela 2027.
