Bhopal: Bhopal’s Boat Club turned into a sea of Tricolour on August 13 as Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav inaugurated a grand Boat Tiranga Yatra ahead of Independence Day.
Patriotic songs filled the venue as young athletes performed kayaking and canoeing stunts. A special canoe slalom show was also organised to salute the national flag. One of the major attractions was a floating Tiranga created in the middle of the lake, described as the first such initiative in the country.
CM Yadav also joined the yatra aboard a boat and used the occasion to convey a message of patriotism, national service and determination. Cabinet Minister Vishwas Sarang was present at the event.
Bhopal Boat Club Turns Into a Sea of Tricolour
The celebrations brought together the colours of the national flag across the land and water at the Boat Club. The atmosphere became particularly vibrant with patriotic songs, including “Mera Rang De Basanti Chola.”
The participation of young athletes added a sporting dimension to the event. Their kayaking and canoeing performances attracted attention as they carried the Tricolour and showcased their skills on the water.
The floating Tricolour became another key attraction, adding a distinctive feature to the Independence Day celebrations in Bhopal.
CM Mohan Yadav Highlights India’s Growing Strength
Addressing the gathering, CM Yadav described the event as an extraordinary celebration and said democracy is flourishing under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He said India has developed a distinct identity globally and is moving towards prosperity by using its capabilities and strength.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the contribution of different states towards public welfare and said the country has made significant progress in building its capabilities.
UCC and Message of Equality
During his address, CM Yadav also spoke about the proposed implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Madhya Pradesh.
He said the move would strengthen the principle of equality in the state and ensure that people are governed by a common legal framework irrespective of their religion.
Referring to India’s national strength, he also praised the country’s armed forces and their contribution to national security.
Young Athletes Showcase Power of Determination
The Chief Minister praised the young athletes for showcasing determination, skill and the ability to overcome challenges during the water-based Tiranga Yatra.
He said the event created a unique spectacle, with the Tricolour visible across the Boat Club and on the water. He urged citizens to contribute to nation-building and help take India forward towards the vision of Amrit Kaal.
CM Yadav congratulated everyone involved and said such programmes strengthen patriotism and the spirit of national service.
