Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday addressed the “Yuva Agniveer Samvad” programme in Dehradun, where he interacted with young participants and highlighted his government’s achievements in areas including the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), employment generation, women empowerment, youth welfare and development initiatives.

During the interaction, the Chief Minister said his government’s achievements cannot be limited to only five points as it has completed “hundreds of works” across different sectors. He also assured that the development journey of Uttarakhand will continue until its benefits reach every section of society.

CM Dhami Says Government Completed Hundreds of Development Works

Responding to a question about the five biggest achievements of his government, CM Dhami said mentioning only five achievements would not do justice to the wide range of initiatives undertaken by the administration.

He said Uttarakhand has made significant progress in various sectors and has challenged the perception that smaller states cannot achieve large-scale development.

Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for Uttarakhand, Dhami said the state has the potential to become a leading contributor to India’s growth journey in this century.

Uttarakhand Becomes First State to Implement UCC

Highlighting major policy decisions, CM Dhami said Uttarakhand became the first state in India to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).

He described the move as one of the important milestones of his government and said it reflects the state’s commitment towards governance reforms.

Over 34,000 Government Recruitments Completed Without Corruption

The Chief Minister highlighted transparent recruitment as another major achievement of his government.

He said more than 34,000 government recruitments have been completed in Uttarakhand without corruption, recommendations or favouritism.

According to Dhami, transparent employment opportunities have strengthened confidence among youth and improved trust in the recruitment system.

Government Focusing on Youth, Women and Farmers

Speaking about welfare initiatives, CM Dhami said the government is working with a focus on:

  • Youth employment and opportunities
  • Women empowerment
  • Farmer welfare
  • Better law and order
  • Inclusive development

He said women in Uttarakhand are producing various local products and receiving government support to promote and market them across the country.

Development Will Continue Until Benefits Reach Every Citizen: Dhami

CM Dhami said the government’s objective is to ensure that development reaches the last person in society.

He highlighted the impact of central government schemes such as:

  • Ujjwala Yojana
  • Swachh Bharat Mission

He said these initiatives have improved the quality of life of women and families across the country.

The Chief Minister added that young people are increasingly returning to Uttarakhand instead of migrating outside the state, but more work needs to be done to create further opportunities.

CM Dhami Speaks on Uttarakhand’s Spiritual Identity and Sanatan Dharma

During the interaction, CM Dhami also spoke about Uttarakhand’s cultural and spiritual importance as Devbhoomi.

He said the state represents India’s spiritual traditions and described Sanatan Dharma as a way of life that has continued through generations.

He emphasised the importance of preserving the cultural identity and heritage associated with Uttarakhand.

Chief Minister Appeals for Responsible Social Media Use

CM Dhami also advised citizens, especially young people, to use social media responsibly.

He said social media has provided ordinary citizens with a powerful platform to express their views and connect globally.

However, he cautioned against spreading misleading information only for views and likes, saying such content can create confusion among people.

Yuva Agniveer Samvad Focuses on Youth Participation

The Yuva Agniveer Samvad programme was organised as an interactive platform to connect young people directly with the Chief Minister.

Participants discussed issues related to:

  • Governance
  • Employment
  • Development policies
  • Youth participation in state-building

The programme highlighted the Uttarakhand government’s focus on involving youth in the state’s future growth and development journey.
