CMPDI & AIIMS Nagpur Launch “Dhwani” CSR Initiative to Provide Cochlear Implants for Underprivileged Children

₹65.50 lakh initiative to support hearing treatment for 13 children from BPL and economically weaker families, improving quality of life and future opportunities

Nagpur: In a heartwarming step towards community well-being, the Central Mine Planning & Design Institute (CMPDI) has partnered with AIIMS Nagpur to launch a transformative CSR initiative named “Dhwani”, aimed at providing cochlear implant treatments for children from economically weaker families.

Supporting Children with Hearing Impairment

Under the project, CMPDI will invest a total of ₹65.50 lakh to fully sponsor cochlear implant treatments for 13 children aged seven years or below from BPL (Below Poverty Line) and EWS (Economically Weaker Section) families. The initiative is expected to help these children regain their hearing, thereby significantly improving their quality of life and opening new opportunities for their overall development and education.

Memorandum of Agreement Signed

The Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for this initiative was signed by Mr. Rajesh Ralhan, Regional Director, RI-IV, Nagpur, CMPDI, and Prof. (Dr.) Prashant P. Joshi, Executive Director & CEO, AIIMS Nagpur. The event was also graced by Mr. Nripendra Nath, Director (T/RD&T), CMPDI, who highlighted the institute’s commitment to sustainable and meaningful CSR initiatives that directly contribute to community welfare.

Focus on Sustainable Community Development

Through “Dhwani,” CMPDI seeks not only to address medical needs but also to enhance the long-term prospects of underprivileged children. By enabling access to critical medical treatment, the project emphasizes inclusivity, equal opportunity, and empowerment for families who otherwise may not have access to advanced healthcare solutions.
