CMPDI Signs MoU with CIPET Chandrapur to Train Maharashtra Youth in Plastic Processing

Nagpur: In a significant move to empower underprivileged youth and enhance employment opportunities in Maharashtra, Central Mine Planning and Design Institute (CMPDI), RI-IV Nagpur, has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET), Chandrapur. The partnership focuses on providing residential skill development training in Plastic Processing and Injection Moulding, equipping youth with industry-relevant technical skills and helping them become atmanirbhar and employable in India’s growing plastics and manufacturing sector.

Program Highlights and Objectives

The collaborative initiative is designed to offer hands-on training and practical knowledge for Maharashtra’s youth:

  • Total Sanctioned Cost: ₹35.64 lakh
  • Beneficiaries: 60 youth from Maharashtra
  • Training Mode: Fully residential at CIPET: CSTS Chandrapur
  • Objective: Enhance employability and skill development for underprivileged youth, preparing them for careers in the plastics and manufacturing industries

The program ensures that participants receive focused learning, including theoretical understanding and practical experience, to make them industry-ready.

The MoA was formally signed on 13th March 2026 by:

  •  Rajesh Ralhan, Regional Director, CMPDI, RI-IV, Nagpur
  •  Pravin B. Bachhav, Director and Head, CIPET: CSTS Chandrapur

The agreement reflects a strong commitment to skill-based employment, bridging the gap between education and industry demands, and fostering self-reliance among Maharashtra’s youth.

Focus on Residential Skill Development

The fully residential nature of the program ensures that the 60 selected beneficiaries receive intensive training, with continuous mentorship and practical exposure. By focusing on Plastic Processing and Injection Moulding, the program aligns with the emerging trends in India’s industrial sector, providing youth with high-demand technical skills.
