New Delhi: Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR) has appointed V. Kashiho Sangtam as a Non-Official Independent Director on its Board for a period of three years. The appointment is effective from August 26, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The appointment follows an order issued by the Ministry of Railways on August 13, 2026. The CONCOR Board approved the appointment on September 1, 2026.
V. Kashiho Sangtam’s Government and Administrative Experience
V. Kashiho Sangtam is a retired officer of the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) with more than three decades of experience in public administration, governance and government affairs.
During his career, Sangtam served in several key roles in the Government of Nagaland, including:
- Block Development Officer
- Assistant Director, Rural Development
- Minister for Soil & Water Conservation
- Minister for Geology & Mining
- Chairman of the Nagaland State Minerals Development Corporation
From 2018 to 2023, Sangtam served as a Minister in the Nagaland Government, handling portfolios related to Soil & Water Conservation, Geology & Mining.
He also chaired the Nagaland State Minerals Development Corporation, giving him experience in public-sector management and the minerals sector.

Sangtam Brings 30+ Years of Governance Experience
Sangtam’s professional experience spans more than 30 years and includes public administration, rural development, management, human resources and project management.
His experience in government administration and public-sector organisations is expected to add to the expertise available on CONCOR’s Board.
CONCOR Board Appointment and Tenure
As per the appointment, Sangtam will serve as a Non-Official Independent Director for three years, subject to the condition that the tenure will end earlier if further orders are issued.

CONCOR Confirms Regulatory and Independence Requirements
CONCOR said Sangtam is not debarred from holding the office of Director by any order of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) or any other regulatory authority.
The company also confirmed that there is no relationship between Sangtam and the other Directors of CONCOR, supporting his status as an Independent Director.
