New Delhi: Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR) has successfully dispatched the first Double Stack Long-Haul Container Train from New JNPA to its Multi-Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) at Varnama, carrying 360 TEUs.
The milestone follows the commencement of Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) operations at JNPA and represents a significant development for India’s rail freight and logistics network.
First Double-Stack Long-Haul Train Carries 360 TEUs
The high-capacity container train marks an important step in expanding the scale and efficiency of rail-based freight movement.
The train travelled from New JNPA to CONCOR’s MMLP Varnama, carrying a total of 360 Twenty-foot Equivalent Units (TEUs).
The successful movement demonstrates the potential of double-stack and long-haul operations to handle larger volumes of cargo through India’s rail freight network.
