New Delhi: In a key administrative development, senior IAS officer Deepak Agarwal (IAS:2000:UP) has been assigned additional charge of Managing Director, Small Farmers’ Agri-Business Consortium (SFAC). The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has granted ex-post facto approval for this assignment.
Agarwal to Hold Additional Charge from August 28, 2025
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Agarwal will hold the additional charge with effect from August 28, 2025.
He will continue in the role until a regular incumbent is appointed or until further orders.
Agarwal is presently serving as Managing Director of NAFED under the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare. The dual charge adds to his portfolio overseeing critical institutions supporting farmers, agri-markets, and cooperative-based agri-business development.
Post of Financial Advisor, Delhi Police Upgraded to Director Level
In another order, the DoPT has upgraded the position held by Atul Prakash Mishra (IDAS:2009)—Financial Advisor, Delhi Police—from the Deputy Secretary level to Director level.
The Ministry of Home Affairs’ proposal for upgradation has been approved as a measure personal to the officer.
Mishra will hold the upgraded post on central deputation for a total tenure of five years, up to March 10, 2027, as per the order.
Significance of the Upgradations to SFAC MD
The SFAC leadership role is significant as the body plays a key role in promoting farmer-producer organizations (FPOs), agri-startups, and smallholder-centric agri-value chains.
Upgrading the Financial Advisor post in the Delhi Police strengthens financial oversight and administrative efficiency in the force’s operations.
