New Delhi: Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Sanjay Seth on Tuesday inaugurated a newly constructed 14-storey Multi-Level Car Parking Facility at the Defence Offices Complex on Africa Avenue, New Delhi, describing it as a step towards modernising urban infrastructure and improving workplace efficiency through advanced technology.
Speaking at the inauguration, the Minister said the Central Government remains committed to developing and upgrading urban infrastructure with world-class facilities.
Minister Highlights Need for Modern Urban Infrastructure
Speaking at the inauguration, Shri Sanjay Seth said:
“The commitment of the government to develop/upgrade urban infrastructure is to provide world-class facilities.”

He also added that adopting advanced technologies would also help address infrastructure challenges.
Automated Robotic Parking to Maximise Space Utilisation
Describing the project as an important step towards addressing parking challenges at the Defence Offices Complex, Shri Sanjay Seth said the use of advanced technology is essential for solving infrastructure constraints in metro cities, where land availability is limited.
He added that such initiatives not only optimise land use but also improve workplace efficiency by replacing conventional systems with modern technologies.
60% More Space Efficient Than Conventional Parking
The newly constructed facility features fully automatic robotic (dolly)-type technology designed to maximise parking capacity within the available land parcel.
According to the Ministry of Defence, the facility:
- Is 14 storeys high.
- Has been built at a cost of ₹45 crore.
- Is 60% more space efficient than conventional parking systems.
- Features CCTV surveillance and a fire safety system.
- Ensures minimum human intervention.
- Produces zero vehicle emissions after entry into the lift lobby.
CPWD Commended for Timely Completion
The Minister commended the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) for completing the project within the stipulated timeline.
He also appreciated the quality, convenience and aesthetics of other infrastructure projects executed by CPWD, including MP Flats, Kartavya Bhawans and the Executive Enclave.
