The project is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening India’s green energy transmission infrastructure.

Winning these projects reinforces the company’s leadership in India’s transmission sector and supports the country’s expanding electricity infrastructure.

India’s First Synchronous Condenser Scheme

Continuing its momentum beyond the first quarter, POWERGRID achieved another milestone during July 2026 by securing India’s first Synchronous Condenser scheme under the TBCB route.

The project is designed to provide essential grid stability and voltage support, facilitating the seamless integration of increasing renewable energy capacity into the national electricity grid.

The scheme is expected to become a key component of India’s transition towards a cleaner and more resilient power system.

Supporting India’s Energy Transition

As India’s largest power transmission utility, POWERGRID continues to play a pivotal role in building the infrastructure required to support the country’s growing electricity demand and ambitious renewable energy targets.

With robust financial performance, sustained capital investments, strategic international financing and a growing portfolio of transmission projects, the company remains central to India’s efforts to strengthen grid reliability, enhance energy security and accelerate the transition to clean energy.
