Shivpuri: Adani Group defence manufacturing facility has entered a new phase with the foundation stone being laid for a ₹2,500 crore defence manufacturing complex in Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh. Adani Defence & Aerospace, the defence business of the Adani Group, has officially started work on the new manufacturing facility in Shivpuri district. The foundation stone was laid on 5 July 2026 in the presence of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, and Jeet Adani, Director of Adani Defence & Aerospace.

What Will the Adani Group Defence Manufacturing Facility Shivpuri Manufacture
According to Adani Defence & Aerospace, the project will establish one of South Asia’s largest private-sector missile manufacturing ecosystems. The facility is expected to manufacture:
- Medium- and long-range missile systems
- Precision-guided weapons
- Composite propellants
- TNT and explosive-grade materials
- Other advanced defence technologies
The company says the project will help reduce India’s dependence on imported defence equipment and support indigenous manufacturing.
Investment and Employment
The total investment in the project is ₹2,500 crore. According to the official announcement, the facility is expected to generate around 5,000 direct and indirect skilled jobs, while the wider industrial ecosystem could create even more employment opportunities over time.
Support for ‘Make in India’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’
The project aligns with the Government of India’s Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat programmes. Officials said the facility will strengthen domestic defence manufacturing, improve supply chains, and support the operational needs of the Indian Armed Forces through locally produced defence systems.

Speaking at the ceremony, Jeet Adani said the Shivpuri project represents a major step towards building a complete missile manufacturing ecosystem in India.
He also reiterated the Adani Group’s broader commitment to invest ₹1.10 lakh crore across Madhya Pradesh in sectors such as pumped hydro storage, cement, mining, logistics, and thermal power, with a target of creating around 1.2 lakh jobs by 2030.
