New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has launched the AI-powered ‘Dust Portal 2.0’ at the Delhi Secretariat to strengthen monitoring of dust pollution at construction and demolition (C&D) sites across the national capital.
Developed by the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC), the advanced digital platform will use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to provide real-time monitoring of dust control measures at construction sites and improve enforcement against pollution violations.
AI-Based System to Monitor Construction Dust in Real Time
The newly launched Dust Portal 2.0 will help authorities track pollution control measures at construction and demolition sites through AI-based technology.
The platform will provide:
- Real-time monitoring of dust control measures
- Automated analysis through AI technology
- Better tracking of construction activities
- Improved action against violations
A live demonstration of the portal was presented during the launch event, showing how AI can make pollution monitoring more accurate and effective.

Mobile App Facility Added to Dust Portal 2.0
Earlier, the Dust Portal was available only through computers. With the launch of version 2.0, the system has now been expanded to a mobile application.
The mobile platform will allow easier access and faster monitoring for officials and project operators.
Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said the upgraded system will help authorities identify ongoing construction projects and assess their pollution levels more effectively.
Construction Sites to Follow 12-Point Self-Audit System
The DPCC has introduced a 12-point self-audit system for construction and demolition sites.
Under this system, project operators will have to ensure compliance with several dust-control measures, including:
- Installation of green nets or barricading around sites
- Regular water sprinkling
- Covering construction materials
- Tyre washing facilities for vehicles
- Installation of anti-smog guns
- PM2.5 and PM10 pollution sensors
- CCTV camera monitoring
- Display of required sign boards
Construction sites will also need to upload photographs of these measures on the portal for verification.
CM Rekha Gupta Highlights Government’s Pollution Control Efforts
Sharing details about the initiative, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the Delhi government is working continuously at every level to control pollution.
She said the AI-driven Dust Portal 2.0 and mobile app will make monitoring and management of dust pollution at construction sites more effective.
According to the Chief Minister, the initiative will provide project operators with a self-assessment facility while helping authorities take timely action against pollution-related violations.
Environment Minister Says Portal Will Strengthen Pollution Monitoring
Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said the Delhi government is committed to making the capital a pollution-free city.
He said the portal will provide information about:
- The number of ongoing construction projects
- Pollution levels generated by these activities
- Compliance status of construction sites
He added that the system integrates AI with cameras and local sensors to automate monitoring and improve pollution control measures across Delhi.
AI Technology to Improve Dust Pollution Management in Delhi
The launch of Dust Portal 2.0 marks a technology-driven step towards controlling construction-related air pollution in Delhi.
By combining AI monitoring, sensor-based tracking, and self-audit mechanisms, the government aims to improve compliance, increase transparency, and reduce dust emissions from construction activities across the city.
