New Delhi: The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday issued official notifications regarding the premature repatriation of senior IAS and IRS officers from their central deputation posts back to their parent cadres. These administrative adjustments reflect routine cadre management decisions in line with government protocols.
Sandhya Bhullar Repatriated from DPIIT
Sandhya Bhullar, an IAS officer of the 2003 batch from the Gujarat cadre, was serving as Joint Secretary in the Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIIT). She has been prematurely repatriated to her parent cadre as per the latest DoPT order. Bhullar’s return marks the end of her tenure in a key role promoting industrial and trade policies at the central level.
Lochan Sehra Repatriated from IN-SPACe Ahmedabad
Lochan Sehra, IAS 2002 batch, also from the Gujarat cadre, was holding the position of Joint Secretary at IN-SPACe, Ahmedabad. The officer has been repatriated to his parent cadre, ending his central deputation tenure. His posting at IN-SPACe involved oversight of India’s commercial space sector initiatives and administrative coordination for space-related projects.
Vinit Kumar Repatriated from NEPA Ltd
Vinit Kumar, IRS C&CE officer of the 2013 batch, was serving as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) at NEPA Ltd, Nepanagar (Madhya Pradesh). The DoPT notification states that Kumar has been repatriated to his parent cadre on personal grounds, concluding his central deputation assignment.
Implications of Repatriation
These moves are part of routine administrative reshuffles undertaken by the government to manage central deputations, ensure proper cadre allocation, and accommodate personal or professional requirements of officers. Officers on central deputation are typically posted to key ministries, public sector units, and policy bodies to gain exposure at the national level, and repatriation allows them to return to their state cadre or pursue other responsibilities.
