New Delhi: A landmark Technical Arrangement (TA) was signed between India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Directorate General of Armaments (DGA), France, aimed at deepening bilateral collaboration in defence research and development. The agreement was signed at DRDO Bhawan, New Delhi, by Dr. Samir V. Kamat, Secretary DDR&D and Chairman DRDO, and Lt. Gen. Gael Diaz de Tuesta, National Armaments Director, DGA, France.
Key Areas of Cooperation
The Technical Arrangement lays out a broad framework for cooperation across multiple strategic areas, including:
- Aeronautical platforms and unmanned vehicles
- Advanced materials for defence applications
- Cyber security and artificial intelligence (AI)
- Space, navigation, and advanced propulsion systems
- Advanced sensors, quantum technologies, and underwater technologies
- Other areas of mutual interest in defence innovation
These focus areas underscore the commitment of both nations to enhance technological capabilities and foster joint innovation in defence systems.
