New Delhi: Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) has inaugurated an AMRIT Pharmacy at its Sanctoria Hospital to provide affordable medicines, surgical items and medical implants to employees as well as people living in surrounding areas.
ECL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Satish Jha inaugurated the facility on Saturday. The pharmacy is operated by HLL Lifecare Limited, under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and will make quality medicines and medical supplies available at substantially discounted prices.
AMRIT Pharmacy to Provide Affordable Medicines
The new facility is aimed at improving access to essential medicines and medical supplies for ECL employees, patients and people from nearby communities.
The pharmacy will provide:
- Affordable medicines at substantially discounted prices
- Surgical items
- Medical implants
- Quality healthcare supplies
- Cashless access for eligible serving ECL employees
The initiative is expected to help reduce the financial burden on patients and their families, particularly those requiring regular medicines or costly medical supplies.
Cashless Medicine Facility for ECL Employees
Serving ECL employees will be able to access medicines through the pharmacy on a cashless basis, subject to applicable company provisions.
The facility will strengthen healthcare support available to ECL employees and their families through the company’s medical infrastructure.
At the same time, residents of peripheral areas around Sanctoria will also be able to benefit from access to medicines and medical supplies at affordable prices.
ECL CMD Satish Jha Reviews Pharmacy Services
During the inauguration, ECL CMD Satish Jha interacted with the AMRIT Pharmacy team, doctors, medical staff and patients.
Jha stressed the importance of ensuring:

- Quality standards for medical supplies
- Patient-friendly services
- Efficient healthcare delivery
He emphasised that the pharmacy should provide reliable access to medicines while maintaining quality and focusing on the needs of patients.

ECL Director (HR) Gunjan Kumar Sinha and other senior company officials were also present during the inauguration of the AMRIT Pharmacy at Sanctoria Hospital.
The facility marks another step towards strengthening healthcare support for ECL employees and communities in areas surrounding its operations.
