Eastern Coalfields Inducts 127 Employees Under Employment and Rehabilitation Schemes 

Eastern Coalfields Limited appoints 111 candidates under the NCWA Dependent Employment Scheme and 16 under its Resettlement and Rehabilitation Policy.

New Delhi: Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) organised an Induction Ceremony for 127 newly appointed employees on August 25, 2026, at Dishergarh Club in Sanctoria. The programme marked an important step in ECL’s ongoing efforts towards employment generation, employee welfare and rehabilitation.

Of the total 127 appointments, 111 candidates were appointed under the Dependent Employment Scheme in accordance with the provisions of the National Coal Wage Agreement (NCWA), while 16 candidates were appointed under ECL’s Resettlement and Rehabilitation (R&R) Policy.

ECL Inducts 127 Newly Appointed Employees

The induction programme brought together newly appointed employees under various employment and rehabilitation initiatives of ECL.

The appointments were made under two major categories:

  • 111 employees under the Dependent Employment Scheme as per NCWA provisions.
  • 16 employees under ECL’s Resettlement and Rehabilitation (R&R) Policy.

The initiative reflects ECL’s continued commitment to supporting employment opportunities while fulfilling its responsibilities under applicable employment and rehabilitation frameworks.

ECL CMD Satish Jha, Director HR Gunjan Kumar Sinha Attend Ceremony

The ceremony was attended by ECL CMD Mr. Satish Jha and Director (HR) Mr. Gunjan Kumar Sinha.

Several senior officials also participated in the programme, including:

  • Mr. Nazrul Islam, General Manager, WBE Department, ECL
  • Mr. Punyadeep Bhattacharya, General Manager (HR/IR), ECL
  • Mr. RRR Lakra, General Manager (Welfare & CSR), ECL

Representatives of various trade unions, Heads of Departments, senior officials and employees from ECL headquarters and different operational areas were also present.

ECL Management Emphasises Professionalism and Dedication

Addressing the newly appointed employees, the senior management highlighted the significance of their induction into ECL and encouraged them to perform their responsibilities with professionalism, integrity and dedication.

The management urged the new employees to remain committed to the organisation’s objectives and contribute positively to ECL’s operations and growth.

The programme also highlighted the importance of strengthening the company’s workforce while ensuring compliance with applicable employment and rehabilitation policies.

Employment and Rehabilitation Remain Key Focus Areas

The induction ceremony reflects ECL’s continued efforts towards workforce strengthening, employee welfare and rehabilitation.

Through the Dependent Employment Scheme and its R&R Policy, the company is working to fulfil its commitments under established employment and rehabilitation frameworks while providing employment opportunities to eligible candidates.

Vote of Thanks Marks Conclusion of Programme

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Dibyajyoti Ghosh, Head of the Employment & Recruitment Department, ECL.

He expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, trade union representatives, officers, employees and all participants for their presence and contribution towards the successful conduct of the induction ceremony.
