Senior citizens aged 60 years and above account for 16.25% of the total consultations.
The platform’s highest single-day utilisation has reached 6,30,315 consultations.
AI System Added to Support Clinical Decisions
eSanjeevani has integrated an Artificial Intelligence-powered Clinical Decision Support System (AI-CDSS) to assist healthcare providers during teleconsultations.
The system is intended to support clinical decision-making and improve consistency and efficiency during consultations. The AI-enabled system received the Gold Award under the National Awards for e-Governance 2026.
The platform has also been integrated with the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS)-112, linking telemedicine capabilities with emergency response services.
Specialist Consultations Expanded to AIIMS
The government is expanding eSanjeevani beyond primary healthcare by introducing patient-to-doctor specialist OPD teleconsultations through selected government medical institutions.
Specialist teleconsultation services have been rolled out at:
- AIIMS Jodhpur
- AIIMS Jammu
- AIIMS Patna
The government plans to progressively extend the facility to other premier institutions, including AIIMS, JIPMER and PGIMER Chandigarh.
The specialist service is intended to allow patients to access selected specialties remotely, reducing the need for travel to tertiary-care facilities for consultations covered by the service.
Platform Developed by C-DAC
eSanjeevani is a Made-in-India digital health platform developed by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC). C-DAC Mohali has provided technological development and engineering support for the platform since its inception.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has overseen the platform’s expansion and integration with additional digital healthcare services.
