New Delhi: Senior IAS officer Fating Rahul Haridas has been appointed as Private Secretary to Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh in the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying. The appointment has been cleared by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) following a proposal from the Ministry of Panchayati Raj.
The officer will hold this responsibility in addition to his existing role as Private Secretary to the same minister in the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, marking a rare dual-charge assignment at the Union level.
DoPT Clears Dual Responsibility Posting
According to the official order, the appointment will take effect from the date Haridas assumes charge and will continue up to 19 April 2031 or co-terminus with the minister’s tenure, whichever is earlier.
The approval was granted after a formal proposal was received from the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, reflecting administrative continuity across two key ministries handling rural governance and livestock development.
Additional Charge Across Two Ministries
With this posting, Haridas will now serve in both:
- Ministry of Panchayati Raj
- Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying
This dual responsibility is expected to improve coordination between rural development initiatives and livestock-based livelihood schemes, which often overlap at the implementation level in states.
