Fueling Recovery: NTPC Khargone Distributes 600 Nutritional Kits to TB Patients Under CSR Initiative

Initiative Aims to Strengthen Public Health and Support India’s TB Eradication Drive
Indian Masterminds Stories

Khargone, Madhya Pradesh: Reaffirming its commitment to public health and community development, NTPC’s Khargone station in Madhya Pradesh has carried out a vital health-oriented CSR initiative by distributing nutritional kits to 100 tuberculosis (TB) patients in the Khargone district. The event, aimed at supporting patient recovery and improving well-being during treatment, witnessed the distribution of a total of 600 ration kits.

The programme was held in the presence of Gajendra Patel, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Khargone, and attended by officials from NTPC Khargone, reflecting the strong multi-stakeholder collaboration behind the effort.

Nutrition Support for Faster Recovery

Each kit contained essential food items and nutritional supplements vital for strengthening the immunity of TB patients. The distribution aims to bridge the nutrition gap that often hampers recovery among undernourished individuals undergoing TB treatment.

With TB still posing a significant public health challenge in India, NTPC’s intervention is in line with the government’s “Ni-Kshay Mitra” initiative and its broader goal of achieving a TB-free India. Proper nutrition plays a pivotal role in accelerating treatment outcomes and preventing relapses, particularly in socio-economically disadvantaged communities.

Empowering Through Awareness

The programme also served as a platform to raise awareness about TB prevention, care, and stigma reduction, promoting community participation and public dialogue around health. NTPC highlighted that it continues to deliver on its CSR mission by implementing sustainable healthcare interventions that directly benefit the most vulnerable sections of society.

The distribution of 600 ration kits in a single drive marks a significant contribution to the health and dignity of TB patients in the region.
