New Delhi: GAIL (India) Limited is set to strengthen its Board with the nomination of Dr. Banwari Lal and Smt. Rupa Saikia as Non-Official Independent Directors.
The nominations were approved by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) and are effective from August 12, 2026, for a period of three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The company said it is taking the necessary steps to complete the appointment formalities.

The appointment details are:

- Rupa Saikia — Non-Official Independent Director, Category A(vi)
- Tenure: Three years from August 12, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier
The nominations are part of the government-led process for strengthening the Board of the central public sector enterprise.
