New Delhi: Navaratna public sector undertaking RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. has received a significant work order worth ₹63 crore (excluding taxes) from Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) for the implementation of an Integrated Gate Automation System (IGAS) at Kandla in Gujarat.
The order, valued at ₹630.04 million, involves the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the system, along with its operation and maintenance for a period of five years.
RailTel Order Covers Integrated Gate Automation System at Kandla
According to the work order, RailTel will be responsible for the complete implementation of the IGAS project at Deendayal Port Authority.
The scope of work includes:
- Design and supply of the Integrated Gate Automation System
- Installation of the system
- Testing and commissioning
- Operation and maintenance for five years
- Integrated automation of the port gate operations
The project is scheduled to be completed by August 16, 2031.
RailTel stated that the order does not constitute a related-party transaction. The company also clarified that neither its promoters nor members of the promoter group have any interest in the order.

Deendayal Port Authority Is a Major Gateway for Trade
Deendayal Port Authority, formerly known as Kandla Port, is located on the Gulf of Kutch in Gujarat.
The port operates under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and serves as an important gateway for trade, particularly for northern and western parts of India.
The automation project is expected to strengthen technology-enabled operations at the port through an integrated gate management system.
RailTel Reports 20% Revenue Growth in Q1 FY27
RailTel reported a 20.09% year-on-year increase in revenue from operations during the first quarter of FY27.
- Revenue from operations stood at ₹893.27 crore in Q1 FY27.
- Revenue was ₹743.83 crore in Q1 FY26.
- Standalone net profit stood at ₹65.78 crore in Q1 FY27.
- Net profit was ₹66.10 crore in Q1 FY26, representing a marginal decline of 0.48%.
Following the announcement, RailTel shares rose 0.23% to ₹286.45 on the BSE, according to the information provided.
