New Delhi: RailTel Corporation of India Limited has announced a change in its Board of Directors following an order from the Ministry of Railways. Rajesh Gupta, Principal Executive Director (PED), Signal Modernization, Railway Board, has been appointed as a Part-Time Government Nominee Director on the RailTel Board, replacing Rameshwar Meena.
The appointment took effect from August 10, 2026, and will continue for as long as Gupta holds the position of PED (Signal Modernization).
Rajesh Gupta Appointed to RailTel Board
The appointment of Rajesh Gupta was conveyed by the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, through a letter dated August 10, 2026.
Gupta, who currently serves as PED (Signal Modernization) at the Railway Board, will represent the government as a Part-Time Government Nominee Director on the Board of RailTel.
The appointment has been made pursuant to Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

Rameshwar Meena Ceases to Be Government Nominee Director
With the appointment of Rajesh Gupta, Rameshwar Meena has ceased to be a Part-Time Government Nominee Director on the RailTel Board.
His cessation also became effective from August 10, 2026.
The leadership transition is part of the Ministry of Railways’ latest changes to its government nominee representation on the RailTel Board.
Appointment Linked to PED Signal Modernization Role
Rajesh Gupta’s tenure as Part-Time Government Nominee Director is linked to his current position at the Railway Board.
According to the company disclosure, his appointment will continue until he holds the post of PED (Signal Modernization).
The Ministry of Railways communicated the decision through Letter No. 2022/PL/57/10 dated August 10, 2026.
RailTel to Complete Regulatory Formalities
RailTel is undertaking the necessary formalities related to Gupta’s appointment in accordance with the Companies Act, 2013 and applicable SEBI regulations.
The company said further disclosures regarding the appointment will be made as required. Details concerning the cessation of Rameshwar Meena have also been provided as part of the company’s disclosure.
