New Delhi: RailTel Corporation of India has received a ₹119.18 crore work order from the Department of Posts for the provisioning and management of cloud services for Postal Life Insurance (PLI) operations.
The domestic work order was received by RailTel on August 10, 2026, at 11:56 AM and is scheduled to be executed by September 21, 2026.
The company disclosed the order under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Regulations and said the contract does not involve any related-party transaction.
RailTel Gets ₹119.18 Crore Cloud Services Order
Under the new contract, RailTel will provide and manage cloud services for the Postal Life Insurance operations of the Department of Posts.
The project will involve the provisioning and management of cloud infrastructure and related services required for PLI operations.

Order Has No Related-Party Interest
RailTel said the work order does not fall under related-party transactions.
The company also clarified that there is no interest of its promoter or promoter group in the awarding entity.
The disclosure was made in accordance with applicable stock exchange requirements under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Regulations.
RailTel Reports 20% Revenue Growth in Q1 FY27
The new order comes after RailTel reported strong revenue growth during the first quarter of FY27.
The company’s standalone revenue from operations increased 20.09% year-on-year to ₹893.27 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with ₹743.83 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.
However, standalone net profit declined marginally by 0.48% to ₹65.78 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with ₹66.10 crore in Q1 FY26.
The latest work order adds to RailTel’s business pipeline as the company continues to expand its digital infrastructure and technology services.
RailTel Shares End 0.71% Higher
RailTel shares ended 0.71% higher at ₹290.55 on the BSE.
The order announcement provides visibility for additional business in the company’s cloud and digital services segment, although the impact of the contract on future revenue and profitability will depend on its execution.
RailTel’s Nationwide Network Supports Digital Services
The latest order also highlights RailTel’s expanding role in providing technology and digital infrastructure services beyond the railway sector.
The company has developed a nationwide telecom network that passes through around 6,000 railway stations, covering major commercial centres across India.
Its operations include broadband, VPN, telecom, multimedia and other digital infrastructure services, alongside projects supporting Indian Railways.
