The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has appointed Gautam Singh as the new Chief General Manager (CGM) of its Jharkhand Regional Office, the bank announced in a statement on Friday.
With over 30 years of service in NABARD, Mr Singh brings a wealth of experience in rural development, financial inclusion, and agricultural innovation. Prior to this elevation, he served as General Manager and held several key roles across NABARD’s regional and head offices, including postings in Mumbai, Lucknow, and Bhopal. He also served as District Development Manager (DDM) in Munger, Bihar.
“Gautam Singh brings with him a wealth of experience and deep expertise in rural development, financial inclusion, and agricultural innovation,” the bank said, noting that his leadership in Madhya Pradesh saw the successful implementation of several initiatives aimed at uplifting rural communities.
Mr Singh has played a pivotal role in executing Natural Resource Management (NRM) projects across Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Jharkhand. His contributions to consultancy assignments have also helped shape strategic policy frameworks for developmental programmes. In addition, he has served as NABARD’s Nominee Director on the boards of Regional Rural Banks in both Bihar and Madhya Pradesh.
“Known for his unwavering commitment to rural prosperity, Gautam Singh’s appointment as CGM is poised to further bolster NABARD’s mission in Jharkhand, fostering sustainable development and inclusive growth,” the statement added.
In the previous financial year, NABARD disbursed a record ₹5,830 crore in financial assistance to Jharkhand to support rural infrastructure. The Jharkhand Rajya Gramin Bank and the Jharkhand State Cooperative Bank emerged as the largest beneficiaries, collectively receiving ₹2,143 crore.
