Dehradun: In a major boost to Uttarakhand‘s infrastructure and public service development, the Central Government has sanctioned ₹615 crore under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme. The fund will support 37 development schemes across various sectors in the 2025–26 fiscal year. Of the total amount, ₹380.201 crore has already been released, as confirmed by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
CM Dhami Welcomes Approval, Thanks PM Modi
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Ministry of Finance for the timely approval.
“Uttarakhand is receiving full support from the Central Government. We are committed to fulfilling the Prime Minister’s vision of a decade of development,” he said.
The CM had personally advocated the proposals to the Centre, urging for early clearance.
Fund Allocation Across Key Sectors
The approved ₹615 crore will fund 37 projects focusing on infrastructure, education, public safety, energy, and entrepreneurship. Here’s a breakdown:
Health & Water Supply
- ₹218.45 crore for construction in government medical colleges
- ₹70 crore for the Song Dam drinking water project
Infrastructure & Utilities
- ₹36.18 crore for ghats, bypass roads, and drainage projects
- ₹35 crore for water supply and sewerage management
- ₹47.33 crore for power transmission line construction
Public Safety & Startups
- ₹10 crore for 6 police stations and 14 police posts
- ₹10 crore for U-Hub Start-Up Place to promote entrepreneurship
Education & Technical Training
- ₹82.74 crore for higher and technical education institutes
- ₹25 crore for ISBT development and modern workshop facilities
Regional Projects of Note
Additional approved funds include:
- ₹34.72 crore for Dakpathar Barrage and Ichchhadi Dam approach roads
- ₹45.58 crore for:
- Multi-level parking near Tilak Road, Rishikesh
- Redevelopment of Aadhat Bazaar, Dehradun
- Underground cabling for electricity distribution

The Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) is a central initiative that provides interest-free loans to support states’ capital expenditure and infrastructure development. Uttarakhand’s demand of ₹619.42 crore was nearly fully met with this ₹615 crore allocation.
