In a major boost to state development and economic reform, Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai declared that Chhattisgarh has moved beyond the “ease of doing business” to embrace the “speed of doing business”. Speaking at the ‘Chhattisgarh Care Connect’ programme on Wednesday, Mr. Sai highlighted a transformative shift in the state’s industrial landscape.

He credited this change to the state’s new industrial policy, which has rapidly instilled investor confidence and positioned Chhattisgarh as a rising star in India’s development story.
Investment Proposals Worth Rs 7.5 Lakh Crore Received in Just One Year
Emphasizing the success of the state’s policy reforms, Mr. Sai shared that Chhattisgarh has received investment proposals worth nearly Rs 7.5 lakh crore in just one year. These investments, spanning multiple sectors, are projected to create lakhs of employment opportunities, especially in services, healthcare, tourism, and IT.
“This is not just economic growth; this is the redefinition of Chhattisgarh’s industrial identity,” said Mr. Sai.
350+ Reforms Implemented in 18 Months to Accelerate Development
In alignment with Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India), the Chhattisgarh government has already implemented over 350 policy reforms in the last 18 months. These reforms have laid the foundation for faster approvals, transparent governance, and robust infrastructure development.
New Growth Engines: Healthcare, Tourism, Wellness, and AI
Highlighting emerging sectors, Mr. Sai announced that the state is now expanding beyond core industries and gaining traction in healthcare, wellness, pharmaceuticals, tourism, and artificial intelligence.
Key announcements included:
- Rs 2,466 crore investment in hospital and healthcare projects, expected to create 6,000 jobs
- Development of a dedicated pharma hub to consolidate pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Rs 652 crore worth of proposals from the hotel and tourism sector, which now enjoys industry status
- Launch of an AI Data Centre Park in Naya Raipur, marking Chhattisgarh’s entry into the AI revolution
Tourism as Industry: Unlocking Chhattisgarh’s Cultural and Natural Potential
Mr. Sai also pointed to Chhattisgarh’s rich cultural heritage, biodiversity, and tribal tourism potential as untapped economic drivers. With tourism granted full industry status, investors in this sector will now benefit from policy incentives, subsidies, and land support, encouraging rapid growth in hospitality infrastructure.
