In celebration of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttarakhand has announced a two-week long Seva Pakhwada (Service Fortnight), running from September 17 to October 2. The initiative aims to promote public welfare activities including health camps, cleanliness drives, and blood donation campaigns.

Senior BJP leaders have begun sharing their personal experiences with the Prime Minister on social media under the campaign titled ‘My Modi Story’, reflecting on his leadership, dedication, and simplicity.

CM Dhami Shares ‘My Modi Story’: A Night of Silent Service

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami also participated in the campaign by posting a personal anecdote that highlighted the Prime Minister’s work ethic and dedication.

Recalling a late-night memory from Varanasi, Mr. Dhami wrote, “A meeting with BJP Chief Ministers had just ended at 1 AM. Everyone was visibly tired. Suddenly, Prime Minister Modi smiled and said, ‘One important task still remains.’”

The Chief Minister narrated how Mr. Modi explained that conducting inspections during the day could inconvenience the public. Therefore, he opted to visit development sites in his Lok Sabha constituency during the quiet hours of the night. “He returned at 4 AM and was present again by 9 AM, fresh and ready for the next meeting,” Mr. Dhami shared.

This incident, Mr. Dhami emphasized, exemplifies the Prime Minister’s unwavering commitment to public service, regardless of the hour.

CM Dhami Dedicates Birthday to Disaster-Affected Citizens

Mr. Dhami, who celebrates his birthday on September 16, announced that he will not hold any formal celebrations. Instead, he will mark the day with acts of public service, focusing particularly on providing relief to those affected by recent natural disasters in the state.

Addressing the media at the Secretariat, Mr. Dhami said, “The state is going through a period of crisis. In such times, true celebration lies in supporting those in need.” He appealed to the public and civil society groups to come forward and assist affected families, especially in remote and disaster-struck areas.

BJP to Organize Service Activities on CM’s Birthday

BJP state president Mr. Mahendra Bhatt extended birthday wishes to the Chief Minister and praised his decision to forgo personal celebrations in favor of public service.

Mr. Bhatt stated that the party would honor Mr. Dhami’s values by conducting welfare activities including blood donation camps, health camps, tree plantation drives, and cleanliness campaigns across the state.

He further remarked, “The Chief Minister’s decision reflects the core philosophy of the party and the inspiration we all draw from Prime Minister Modi’s example.”

Service Over Celebration: A Leadership Style Rooted in Values

The dual celebration of both PM Modi’s birthday and CM Dhami’s personal milestone through service activities reflects the growing culture within the BJP of integrating social responsibility with leadership. As Uttarakhand continues to face climatic challenges and works toward inclusive development, such gestures of service-oriented governance send a strong message of empathy and action.
