GRSE Unveils New Logo on Its 66th Raising Day

Kolkata: Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE), one of India’s premier defence shipyards, celebrated its 66th Raising Day with great enthusiasm and pride. The event, held in Kolkata, saw spirited participation from employees across all departments.

The celebration was graced by the presence of Cmde PR Hari, IN (Retd.), Chairman & Managing Director of GRSE; RK Dash, Director (Finance); DIG Subrato Ghosh, ICG (Retd.), Director (Personnel); Abhishek Ranjan, IOFS, Chief Vigilance Officer; and other senior officials.

A key highlight of the event was the formal unveiling of GRSE’s new official logo by Cmde PR Hari. In addition, the company released its annual in-house journal GRSE Varta 2025 and the Hindi magazine Rajbhasha Jagriti 2025. The occasion also featured the presentation of merit awards to the children of employees and recognition of outstanding employee performance across various categories.

Cultural performances by GRSE employees added vibrancy to the celebrations, reflecting the spirit and camaraderie of the shipyard community.

Headquartered in Kolkata, GRSE is a key player in India’s defence manufacturing sector. The shipyard specializes in the construction and repair of both commercial and naval vessels and has an expanding export portfolio.

GRSE has successfully delivered major projects to the Indian Navy and Coast Guard, as well as to international clients, including Bangladesh and Guyana. Its significant projects include the advanced frigates under Project 17A, survey vessels, anti-submarine warfare shallow water crafts, and offshore patrol vessels. The company also constructs ferries, patrol boats, and dredgers.

Currently, GRSE is executing three major warship-building projects for the Indian Navy and one for the Indian Coast Guard, with a combined value of approximately ₹25,000 crore. This includes the prestigious Project 17A, involving the construction of three advanced stealth frigates, along with two competitively won contracts.
