Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has invited industrialists, traders and entrepreneurs from Rajasthan to explore investment opportunities and business partnerships in the state ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) 2027. A roadshow was organised in Jaipur on Thursday to showcase Gujarat’s industrial strengths, investor-friendly policies, infrastructure and emerging business opportunities.
The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027 is scheduled to be held from January 10 to 12, 2027, at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. The Gujarat delegation also held one-to-one meetings with industry representatives to explain the state’s industrial ecosystem, infrastructure facilities, business policies and support available to investors.
Gujarat Minister Kunvarji Bavaliya Invites Rajasthan Investors to VGGS 2027
Addressing the gathering, Gujarat Minister of State for Labour, Skill Development and Employment, and Rural Development, Kunvarji Bavaliya, welcomed participants on behalf of the Gujarat government.
Recalling the origins of the Vibrant Gujarat initiative, Bavaliya said Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the summit in 2003 when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. At the time, the concept of a state-led global business summit was relatively unfamiliar, but the initiative has since developed into a major platform for investment, industry and international business engagement.
He said Gujarat continues to expand its development agenda under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel. The launch of the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conferences (VGRC) in 2026 marked another step towards extending investment opportunities across different regions of the state.
Encouraging Rajasthan’s business community to participate in the upcoming summit, Bavaliya said Gujarat was creating opportunities for investors rather than waiting for them to emerge.
Speaking to the media after the roadshow, he said several traders and industrialists from Rajasthan had expressed interest in exploring new business ventures in Gujarat and participating in VGGS 2027 across various sectors.
He added that the Gujarat government was organising similar roadshows in other states and countries to connect with potential investors ahead of the summit. The government would extend support to investors interested in participating in the event.

Describing her personal connection with both states, Agrawal said Rajasthan was her birthplace while Gujarat was her place of work. She expressed confidence that closer cooperation between the two states could contribute to India’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
She acknowledged the contributions of Gujarati and Marwari entrepreneurs to India’s industrial development and highlighted Rajasthan’s role in Gujarat’s economic growth.
According to Agrawal, the two states have significant opportunities to build on their complementary strengths through investment, trade, skill development and business partnerships.
The proposed collaboration is intended to promote mutual economic growth rather than competition, with businesses in both states benefiting from closer industrial and commercial ties.
Gujarat Highlights Infrastructure and Ease of Doing Business
During the roadshow, Agrawal highlighted Gujarat’s industrial ecosystem, stable policy environment, emphasis on ease of doing business and availability of land for industrial development.
She said the state offers infrastructure advantages for manufacturing, logistics and trade through its major ports, international air connectivity, Dedicated Freight Corridor, metro rail networks and the Mumbai–Ahmedabad Bullet Train project.
The development of Dholera was also highlighted as an important part of Gujarat’s industrial expansion. Road infrastructure and other facilities are being developed there to support the emergence of a major industrial and investment hub.
Gujarat contributes approximately 8.3% to India’s gross domestic product (GDP) and continues to position itself as a major destination for domestic and international investment.
The year 2027 will also mark 25 years of the governance journey associated with the Vibrant Gujarat initiative and the state’s broader development agenda.
Gujarat Targets Semiconductor, AI and Battery Manufacturing Investments
Gujarat is building on its established industrial strengths in chemicals, petrochemicals, diamond processing and refining while expanding into emerging technology sectors.
According to the release, the state is focusing on attracting investment in semiconductors, data centres, artificial intelligence (AI), battery manufacturing, research and development (R&D), and other advanced technology industries.
Agrawal highlighted the infrastructure being developed in Sanand and Dholera to support semiconductor manufacturing and strengthen Gujarat’s position in global technology supply chains.
The state’s growing micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) ecosystem is also expected to support industrial expansion by creating opportunities for suppliers, service providers and smaller businesses to participate in emerging industries.
These efforts are aimed at diversifying Gujarat’s industrial base and strengthening its role in advanced manufacturing and technology-driven economic growth.
Khavda Renewable Energy Project Supports Gujarat’s Clean Energy Push
Agrawal also highlighted Gujarat’s clean energy initiatives, particularly the renewable energy development at Khavda, as an important contributor to India’s energy transition.
The state is seeking to expand its clean energy capabilities alongside investments in advanced manufacturing and technology. Infrastructure development and industrial expansion are expected to create further opportunities for businesses associated with renewable energy, battery manufacturing and related supply chains.
The focus on clean energy forms part of Gujarat’s broader strategy to attract investment across traditional industries as well as emerging sectors.

The summit will also focus on connecting Indian businesses with global supply chains, with greater emphasis on export promotion alongside domestic market expansion.
